House of the Sun: Best Hikes in Maui

Nov 2015

What can we say? One of the most beautiful experiences ever done.. 8 hr hike worth every minute!

Started at 6.30am for sunrise at the summit of the Haleakalā National Park with the beautiful view of the sun and moon simultaneously above the clouds. Followed by one of the most amazing hikes inside the crater. With an out of this world (literally) landscape.

Quick tip:The Haleakalā is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The tallest peak of Haleakalā (“house of the sun”), at 10,023 feet (3,055 m), is Puʻu ʻUlaʻula (Red Hill) (Cited by Wikipedia).

And now the mind-blowing adventure…  We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…

Kaia definitely had the most coveted seat in the Crater! Happy and chatting the whole time as usual :).  So grateful to call Maui home, sore muscles, sunburn and all!
